Congratulations to Rebecca Taylor (Bama) ….

For being one of the recipients of the Inaugural Women in Sport Recognition Awards this morning at the Women In Sport Breakfast which was held at the RACV Club, Melbourne.
The recipients were acknowledged by their sporting organisations as making significant contribution to promoting sport for girls and women, leading others, building programs, advancing women in the media and researching the factors that affect participation and engagement of women in sport. Awards were presented by AUS Diamonds Head Coach Lisa Alexander Netball Australia & Tracey Gaudry UCI
Rebecca has turned her innovative ideas into reality and inspired people to stay active & healthy in roller derby. 
From governance through to program development Rebecca works diligently as a volunteer to build a strong structure to ensure sustainability of the sport in the future which include the Skate Victoria Roller Derby Coaching Accreditation, Return to Play Policy and Guidelines program developer, Victorian Equal Opportunity Human Rights Commission, (VEOHRC) “Fair Go Sports” Co-ordinator, Tournament Director for Skate Victoria major events, Conference and Course Facilitator
Due to Rebecca’s involvement in the sport in so many aspects from acting as Skate Victoria’s liaison person with the World Governing Roller Derby Association (WFTDA) to day to day issues she has been integral in the growth of the sport throughout Australia
