About Skate Victoria
MISSION STATEMENT
Skate Victoria is an incorporated State Sporting Association with strong links to other participating States affiliated with a national (Skate Australia) and an international (FIRS) organisation. Skate Victoria has partnerships with both VicHealth and Sport & Recreation Victoria.
Its mission is:
- The promotion of, and participation in, roller/inline skating in a safe environment through one or more of its four disciplines.
- To provide a training and competition structure that provides opportunities for participation and skill development for beginners to elite participants.
- To have all aspects of the management of the sport provided by professionally qualified people either paid or voluntary.
- To provide opportunities for the ongoing development of coaches, officials, branch and club executives.
- To support and promote clubs and rinks as the main entry point for participation.
- To provide policy guidelines, structure and sound financial management to underpin and maintain the viability of roller/inline skating in Victoria.
VISION
Skate Victoria has a vision of providing a framework for roller sports that:
- Promotes increased participation within all four disciplines.
- Provides a competition structure that meets the varying age and skill levels of its participants.
- Increases the retention rate of its current membership.
- Ensures an appropriate number of coaches, officials and branch executives who have appropriate qualifications for their positions..
- Promotes links to a National and International framework
